Liverpool makes James Maddison contact?

Liverpool have reportedly contacted Coventry City regarding the availability of youngster James Maddison.

The 19-year-old's performances this term are said to have captured the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, according to The Express, it is the Merseysiders that have attempted to steal a march on their rivals.

The report adds that were they to secure Maddison's services, the midfielder would not make the move to Anfield until the summer.

Maddison made his senior debut for the Sky Blues in August 2014.
