Liverpool interested in Joleon Lescott?

Rumours on Merseyside this afternoon have suggested that Liverpool are interested in signing Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott.

The England international featured heavily last season as the Citizens won their first league title since 1968.

However, reports have claimed that City boss Roberto Mancini is keen to add another centre-back to his squad, with Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel a believed target.

That news has alerted Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who is said to be willing to swap the two defenders.

Lescott joined City in 2009 from Liverpool's rivals Everton.
