Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have reportedly moved ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

The Germany international has allegedly indicated that he would like to sign for Bayern, despite it being alleged that no talks have been held between the two clubs.

However, according to Bild, Bayern are currently focused on handing a new contract to leading goalscorer Robert Lewandowski.

The report suggests that the developments could give Liverpool an opportunity to move for Werner, with Jurgen Klopp said to be an admirer of the player.

RB Leipzig have reportedly identified Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham as a potential replacement for Werner.
