In-demand Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro emerges as a transfer target for Liverpool, according to a report.

Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool, with the Reds preparing to battle Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid for his services.

The 19-year-old made the breakthrough into the Las Palmas first team during the 2021-22 campaign, featuring on 38 occasions in all competitions for La Union Deportiva.

Moleiro has also been a key player for his Segunda Division club this season, featuring on 13 occasions, providing three assists in the process.

The teenager signed a new contract with Las Palmas in July of this year, with his current deal now running until June 2026, but there has been widespread speculation surrounding his future in recent weeks.

Man City are said to be huge admirers, with the English champions allegedly 'going with everything' in a bid to secure his services, having scouted him extensively last season.

Citizens head coach Pep Guardiola has allegedly 'directly' recommended that his team move for the midfielder, who has a release clause of €30m (£26.2m) in his current deal.

Meanwhile, there is believed to be firm interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the La Liga giants keeping a close eye on the situation.

According to AS, Liverpool have also received 'very good reports' on Moleiro, with the club's head coach Jurgen Klopp said to be a huge admirer of his talents.

The report claims that a deal in the region of €15m (£13.1m) could have been done over the summer, but Las Palmas would now want his full release clause to be met.

Moleiro has now made 51 first-team appearances for his current side, contributing three goals and four assists in the process, with the vast majority of his outings coming in the Segunda Division.

"We finished the playoff against Tenerife and I remember that in the following two weeks news about Barca or other teams began to sound. I stand aside and let my agents take [care of] it," he told Marca over the summer when questioned on the transfer speculation.

"I was getting information little by little, but I was very calm. My parents, not so much, because they read a lot of things and didn't know anything. Being my first summer at a professional level, it was a bit of a shock, but now I'm calm. I have signed four years with Las Palmas and I am very happy.

"I don't believe it when I see it, really (interest from Man City and Barcelona). I think it's fake news, but it's true that little by little you believe it and that means you're doing things right. You have to follow the same path.

"I see myself in teams that play with the ball because without the ball I suffer. I can also play without the ball, but it costs me a little more and I think the ideal would be teams where they like to play, I get along well there."

Moleiro featured on nine occasions for Spain Under-19s, scoring once, while he has also represented Spain Under-21s on two occasions.
