Jurgen Klopp will be able to reinvest all the money made from Liverpool's prospective sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been told by Liverpool's owners that he will be able to reinvest all the money made from the prospective sale of Philippe Coutinho.

La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to return with a £130m bid for the Brazilian in January following a summer of failed pursuit by the Blaugrana.

The Reds rejected a number of Barca bids for Coutinho during the transfer window and kept hold of their man, but have struggled to mount a Premier League title tilt despite this.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool have told Klopp that, should the 25-year-old be sold in the New Year, the money recouped can be spent towards strengthening the squad.

The report goes on to claim that Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk remains Klopp's main transfer target as the Reds seek to address their defensive issues.

Coutinho signed a five-year deal at Anfield in January and has scored four goals in all competitions so far this season.
