Liverpool forward Danny Ings: 'I'm in best shape of my career'

Liverpool forward Danny Ings claims that he is currently feeling in the best shape of his career after recently returning from a second serious knee injury.

Liverpool forward Danny Ings has claimed that he has moved past a stage of his career which saw him suffer two serious knee injuries.

Since moving to Anfield in June 2015, Ings has been restricted to just 14 appearances in all competitions, but the forward has recently returned to the first-team squad.

Ings faces a battle to gain regular action with the Merseyside giants, but the England international is happy to be back training with the rest of Jurgen Klopp's group of players.

The 25-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: "It's been a long road. A long, tough road but I'm past that now, I'm really past that now.

"I'm in the shape of my life, I'm feeling good, I'm happy and to be around the lads every day is great."

Ings has been linked with a loan exit during the January transfer window, with West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United both said to hold an interest in the attacker.
