Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is thought to be 'extremely disappointed' over rumours linking him with a swap move involving Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez.

Reports surfaced on Saturday night that the Merseyside club contacted City over a potential deal.

However, chiefs at the Etihad Stadium were quick to reject the idea.

A source close to Carroll has reportedly told Sky Sports News that the player is "extremely disappointed" over the way that the story came out.
