Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly line up a £15m swoop for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips as they prepare for Ben White's departure to Arsenal.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly identified Liverpool defender Nat Phillips as an ideal replacement for Arsenal-bound Ben White.

The Gunners are understood to have agreed a £50m deal for English centre-back White, who will undergo his medical in North London after returning from holiday.

The 23-year-old was a mainstay in Graham Potter's defence last season, and the Seagulls boss will therefore be on the lookout for replacement options ahead of the new season.

According to talkSPORT, Brighton are preparing a £15m swoop for Liverpool defender Phillips, who has been told by the Anfield club that he is free to move on for the right price.

The arrival of Ibrahima Konate is set to restrict Phillips's opportunities at Liverpool next term, while Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip's returns to fitness will also demote the 24-year-old further down the pecking order.

Phillips did impress in 20 appearances for the injury-hit Reds last term, but his Anfield contract now has less than two years left to run.
