Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham will become Real Madrid's second-highest earner when he joins the club this summer, according to a report.

Jude Bellingham is reportedly in line to become Real Madrid's second-highest earner, with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder said to be closing in on a switch to Bernabeu.

Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic and sporting director Sebastian Kehl have moved to calm the recent speculation surrounding the 19-year-old's future.

However, Real Madrid are allegedly close to completing a deal for the England international, who is now expected to move to the Spanish and European champions this summer.

According to SER Deportivos, Bellingham will collect an enormous salary at Bernabeu, with the youngster set to become the club's second-highest earner behind Eden Hazard, who is on close to £380,000 a week.

Hazard is not in Real Madrid's plans for next season, but the Belgian allegedly has no desire to move on and will instead run down the final year of his contract before leaving on a free transfer.

David Alaba is believed to be the club's second-highest earner at present on around £362,000 a week, with Bellingham expected to move above the Austrian when it comes to his pay packet.

The report claims that Los Blancos want to include a €1bn (£875m) release clause in the former Birmingham City youngster's contract, which could run for an initial six years.

Manchester City and Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Bellingham, but Carlo Ancelotti's side are seemingly now on the verge of securing his signature.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid will meet with Dortmund at some stage this month to discuss a transfer fee for the midfielder.

Romano claims that personal terms have already been agreed between the two parties, but the two clubs are yet to settle on a final price for one of the most in-demand players in world football.

Earlier this year, there had been suggestions that Dortmund would be looking for around £150m for the midfielder, but it is believed that £105m, including add-ons, is a more realistic fee.

Bellingham has again been in impressive form for his German club during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 40 occasions in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and registering seven assists in the process.

BVB, who have the youngster on a contract until June 2025, are currently battling Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title, sitting second in the table, one point behind the reigning champions.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are bidding to end the season with a Copa del Rey and Champions League double.
