Brendan Rodgers not fearing Liverpool sack

Under-fire Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists that he has the full support of the Reds' hierarchy following the team's mixed start to the season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he has the full support of the club's owners amid speculation over his job.

The Reds slumped to their sixth defeat of the Premier League campaign in Sunday's 3-1 reverse at Crystal Palace to confirm their worst start to a season for 22 years.

Rumours are rife that Fenway Sports Group has identified Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp as a potential replacement for the 41-year-old unless results pick up.

"I haven't spoken to anyone [at FSG] as of yet. I've had a few messages but they have always been supportive of me," he told Sky Sports News.

"My focus is on getting Liverpool to win games and I know that is what will make them most happy.

"I always believe losing can be the making of you as a player and a manager in terms of how you learn from it and move on from it."

The Northern Irishman led Liverpool to a second-place finish last term after being pipped to the title by Manchester City on the final day of the season.
