Burnley vs. Aston Villa (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Having had ample time to dissect their opening Premier League defeat to Manchester City, newly-promoted Burnley return from a brief hiatus to welcome Aston Villa to Turf Moor on Sunday.

The Lions eased to a 4-0 win over Everton in gameweek two, while the hosts' proposed showdown with Luton Town was postponed to a later date.

We say: Burnley 1-3 Aston Villa

With a seemingly unassailable 5-0 advantage to take into their second leg with Hibs next week, Emery may be tempted to continue with a strong XI here before resting players in Europe, and Burnley should feel the full force of their visitors' potent attack.

Kompany's men will undoubtedly boast the fresher legs and can get off the mark in front of goal at the second time of asking, but keeping Emery's effervescent forwards at bay will surely prove too big an ask.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Still without a single point since their return to the big time, Sheffield United look to pull off a Premier League giant killing when they welcome champions Manchester City to Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon.

The Blades fell to a 2-1 beating at the hands of Nottingham Forest in gameweek two, while Pep Guardiola's men maintained their perfect start by seeing off Newcastle United 1-0.

We say: Sheffield United 0-3 Manchester City

Man City may not have treated the Etihad faithful to a vintage performance against Newcastle, but the goals ought to fly in at Bramall Lane, where Sheffield United may have the sole aim of keeping the scoreline as respectable as they can.

The hosts' well-documented shortcomings in the final third means that Guardiola's defence should enjoy a relatively stress-free afternoon as well, as the champions make it nine points from nine in style.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle vs. Liverpool (Sunday, 4.30pm)

The headline fixture in gameweek three of the 2023-24 Premier League season sees Newcastle United welcome Liverpool to St James' Park for Sunday's fascinating encounter.

The Magpies were beaten 1-0 by treble winners Manchester City in their most recent affair, while the Reds came from behind to put Bournemouth to the sword 3-1 at Anfield.

We say: Newcastle United 2-2 Liverpool

Newcastle's morale may have taken a slight hit with their loss at Man City's headquarters, but with a taste for goals at home, the Magpies can surely expect to breach a disjointed Liverpool XI on more than one occasion, even if Endo is introduced to reinforce the engine room.

However, what Liverpool lack in resilience, they can often make up for at the opposite end of the field, and with Newcastle also failing to offer Pope adequate protection in recent months, an entertaining draw could be on the menu up north.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
