Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday's clash with West Ham United in the Premier League.

Liverpool look likely to be without Diogo Jota until after the World Cup due to the Portugal forward suffering a serious calf injury late on during Sunday's 1-0 win against Manchester City.

The 25-year-old was stretchered off deep into injury-time after appearing to over-stretch when chasing the ball down, weakening Jurgen Klopp's attacking options even further after Luis Diaz was ruled out until the New Year with a knee injury sustained against Arsenal last weekend.

Darwin Nunez could be set for a start from the left flank against West Ham United at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday, with Roberto Firmino likely to knit things together from a deeper central role in order to allow Nunez and Mohamed Salah to penetrate from wider areas.

Club captain Jordan Henderson could return to the starting XI having only been used from the bench against Man City, with Harvey Elliott potentially allowed a breather after starting in both of Liverpool's latest victories.

This could mean that Klopp reverts to his more familiar 4-3-3 formation against the Hammers, although Fabio Carvalho impressed from the bench against the reigning champions and provides an option to start from a wider position.

Klopp, who has avoided a touchline ban for now despite being sent off by referee Anthony Taylor on Sunday, has ruled Ibrahima Konate out of contention after the France defender failed a late fitness test in the build-up to the weekend's action.

Trent Alexander-Arnold did appear late on against Pep Guardiola's side and provides an option from the start at right-back, with James Milner likely to be rotated out after a monumental effort from the 36-year-old against his former club.

Joel Matip, Arthur Melo, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all remain sidelined through injury, but the quartet could be available towards the end of the month.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Nunez
