Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expecting their Premier League clash with Leicester City to be their third consecutive match postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expecting a third successive match to be postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus within their squad.

Spurs reported 13 positive tests earlier this week, including eight first-team players, forcing them to close their training ground.

The Europa Conference League match against Rennes was cancelled as a result, while their Premier League showdown with Brighton & Hove Albion, which was due to take place on Sunday, has also been postponed.

The packed festive fixture schedule means that games are coming even more regularly than usual at the moment, with Tottenham due to be back in action again on Thursday against Leicester.

However, The Athletic reports that Antonio Conte's side are expecting that game to be postponed too, having only reported their positive tests last Wednesday.

People who test positive for coronavirus are required to self-isolate for 10 days, meaning that some of Tottenham's contingent would not be able to come out of isolation until Friday.

The report claims that some players would be available for the trip to the King Power Stadium, but that the majority of the eight who returned a positive test would still be in quarantine.

Tottenham's training ground is also closed until Monday, and the North London outfit are expected to lodge another appeal to the Premier League to have their game against Leicester postponed.

The Foxes have also returned positive coronavirus tests within the past week, raising the possibility of the match being pushed back.

Should that happen, Tottenham's next outing would come against Liverpool on December 19 - two weeks since they were last in action.
