Luis Suarez: 'Steven Gerrard spoke to me with all his heart'

Luis Suarez says that Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard spoke "with all his heart" in the summer to persuade him to stay at Anfield.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has revealed that teammate Steven Gerrard helped convince him to stay at the club last summer.

The Uruguayan was strongly linked with a move away from Anfield, but in the end decided to stay at Liverpool, with Gerrard playing his part in that decision.

"He didn't talk about me, or through me, in the press, but in person," Suarez told FourFourTwo. "In those moments I forgot that he was world football great Gerrard, a Liverpool legend, but as a humble person, who spoke to me with all his heart for hours."

Suarez joined the Reds from Ajax in 2011.
