Daniel Sturridge scores on Liverpool debut

Daniel Sturridge took just seven minutes to open his goalscoring account for Liverpool this afternoon.

The England international joined the Reds earlier in the week from Chelsea in a deal thought to be worth around £12m.

He was handed his debut by manager Brendan Rodgers for today's FA Cup tie at Mansfield and he repaid his new manager's faith by converting a through-ball from Jonjo Shelvey into bottom right hand corner of the net.
