Steven Gerrard hails Danny Ings signing

Steven Gerrard admits that he is looking forward to seeing Danny Ings play for Liverpool next season.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has said that he believes Danny Ings will prove to be a great signing for the club.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign the Burnley striker on a free transfer when his contract expires on July 1.

Gerrard, who will leave Liverpool for LA Galaxy this summer, says that he is looking forward to seeing what Ings can do at Anfield after he netted 11 Premier League goals for the relegated Clarets last season.

"The Ings one I'm really excited about because he can be what he wants to be - I know the talent's there, he's very young, he's fresh," Gerrard told Liverpool's official website.

"I think if he carries on learning and developing he can become a top striker and we love top strikers, so it's there for them, the stage is there and I wish [him] the best of luck and I'm looking forward to watching [him] play."

Liverpool have also secured the pre-contract signings of James Milner and Adam Bogdan.
