Brendan Rodgers, Daniel Sturridge win Premier League accolades

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is named the Premier League manager of the month, while Daniel Sturridge scoops player of the month for August.

Liverpool have been awarded by the Premier League following their successful start to the season, which currently puts them at the top of the table.

Brendan Rodgers has been named the Barclays Premier League manager of the month for August, while Daniel Sturridge has scooped the player of the month accolade.

The England international scored in both of Liverpool's 1-0 victories in August against Stoke City and Aston Villa.

The Reds, who face Swansea City on Monday evening, have a 100% record following their victory over Manchester United before the international break.
