Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that there is no rush to discuss a new deal at the club, insisting that he is happy to wait until the end of the season.
Rodgers, who took charge at Anfield in 2012, has one more year left on his current deal, but the former Swansea City boss is determined to avoid any distractions as the season draws to a close.
"We have done a good job, the owners are happy with how it's gone," he told Sky Sports News. "We will sit and talk and take it from there, but I would never want the club to be distracted by worrying about me.
"It is something I don't think the club should look at until the end of the season. I'm not crying for anything. I'm really happy here. It's an incredible club and if the title goes down to the last day then that's where it's at.
"There is no point in having any distractions now and I don't want any distractions. They are happy with how it has progressed. There's another year and we will take it from there. It's gone really well and I don't want to disrupt it."
Liverpool have the chance to move into second place with a win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
