Rodgers credits Dalglish for Henderson form

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has credited former boss Kenny Dalglish following Jordan Henderson's fine form this season.

Henderson, who was signed for £16m by Dalglish in 2011, has flourished this season, and the Reds coach has claimed that the Anfield legend deserves a pat on the back for having the foresight bring the former England Under-21 captain to Anfield.

Rodgers told talkSPORT: "It's a great credit to Kenny [Dalglish]. Everyone talked about Jordan Henderson coming in and the money that was spent on him. When you come into Liverpool, it takes you a year just to adapt.

"He has been absolutely outstanding in my time here, a great boy as well and wants to learn. You saw his performance.

"You looked at Jordan - a few times he was really organising and encouraging, and getting into one or two of his teammates as well. That's the leadership that you want."

The 23-year-old was impressive for the Reds as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 on Sunday.
