Report: Jurgen Klopp to be handed £7m-a-year contract at Liverpool?

Report: Klopp to earn £7m a year?

Jurgen Klopp will earn £7m a year once he is confirmed as the new Liverpool manager, according to reports.

The former Borussia Dortmund head coach has been heavily linked with the Reds this week and Liverpool have announced a press conference for 10am on Friday, where it is widely expected that Klopp will be officially confirmed as the new Liverpool boss.

The Independent reports that the 48-year-old German has agreed a £7m-a-year deal with the Merseyside outfit, which will make him one of the highest-paid managers in world football.

It has also been reported that Klopp will sign an initial three-year deal, with the option for an extra year.

Liverpool parted company with Brendan Rodgers in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Everton, bringing to an end the Northern Irishman's three-year spell with the club.

The club have also announced that many of the Rodgers's backroom staff have moved on, including Sean O'Driscoll, who only joined the club in the summer.
