Parker: 'Falcao too big for Liverpool'

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has claimed that Liverpool are not a big enough club to sign Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian has endured a disappointing campaign since moving on loan to the Red Devils from Monaco on transfer deadline day, and the ex-Atletico Madrid player has been linked with a switch to Anfield.

However, Parker has scoffed at the reports and he believes that the South American forward's high-profile reputation would rule out a move to Brendan Rodgers's Reds.

He told Yahoo Sport: "Nice idea, but [Liverpool] are not quite big enough a club for Falcao; he must be looking for more than that. And being ex-United it's unlikely the fans would take to him – especially if he did not hit the ground running.

"It is great talk for Liverpool, though: even the suggestion that they can attract players of his quality shows that they are moving forward .

"To be frank, both moves are pipedreams. A move overseas beckons if he does not make the grade at United."

Falcao has scored four goals for United this term.
