Liverpool legend Jan Molby backs Jurgen Klopp's side to launch a genuine title challenge this season.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby has said that he cannot see Jurgen Klopp's side dropping off this season.

The Reds have emerged as genuine title contenders over the opening months of the campaign and currently sit top of the table after 11 games.

Molby acknowledged that Liverpool will face plenty of competition throughout the season, but believes that Klopp will continue to get the best out of his players.

"It's a long way to go and we know it will be extremely competitive right until the end of the season. Good managers get the best from their players and that's what Klopp has managed to do," he told the club's official website.

"I don't think it's something that is about to change and I think we have set standards now and we will continue to get close to that level right until the end of the season."

Liverpool's next game sees them take on Southampton at St Mary's next weekend.
