Dejan Lovren: 'Liverpool's confidence is back'

Dejan Lovren claims that Liverpool have got their confidence back after beating Newcastle United.

Dejan Lovren has claimed that Liverpool have got their confidence back following Monday's 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

The Reds boosted their hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League table last night thanks to a routine victory at Anfield.

After successive defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal saw their campaign suffer a setback, Lovren now believes that Liverpool are returning to their best form.

"We had difficult moments in the last few games against the big teams," he told the club's official website. "It didn't go the way we wanted. But now, after the cup win [against Blackburn Rovers] and this game, the confidence is back. That is the most important thing. We just need to continue to be calm and do our job."

Liverpool return to action on Sunday when they face Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium.
