Dejan Lovren: 'Nathaniel Clyne is like a sports car'

Defender Dejan Lovren has revealed that he only has "positive" words to say about Nathaniel Clyne after the full-back joined him at Anfield.

Lovren and Clyne played together at Southampton before completing lucrative moves to Merseyside, and the Croatian has compared the full-back to a sports car as they continue their pre-season preparations with a fixture with Thailand on Tuesday afternoon.

The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "I would describe Nathaniel as a sports car – he's quick, strong and an intelligent guy.

"I played with him at Southampton and I have only positive words about him. He's a great signing for us and I can't wait to see him playing on the pitch."

Lovren made 38 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool in his first season at the club.
