Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos aiming to impress on loan at Brentford

Sergi Canos believes that playing for Brentford will provide him with the "ideal" footing to push on when returning to parent club Liverpool in January.

Sergi Canos has admitted that he is "really looking forward" to taking the next step in his development at Brentford.

The 18-year-old has joined the Bees on loan from Liverpool after becoming a regular in the Merseyside outfit's Under-18 and Under-21 sides.

Canos, who was snapped up from Barcelona in 2013, is now hopeful of showcasing his talents on a regular basis at Championship level before returning to Anfield in January.

"I'm feeling very good. I'm really happy to be here," he is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo. "I think it's an ideal club to play for so I'm really happy.

"I'm really looking forward to start, play and learn. All the team, and my teammates, are really nice and they have welcomed me really well."

Eighteen players have departed Liverpool this summer on temporary deals.
