Liverpool 'deny meeting Luis Suarez's representatives'

Liverpool reportedly deny claims that club officials will meet with Luis Suarez's representatives in Barcelona today.

Liverpool have reportedly denied claims that club officials are planning to meet with Luis Suarez's representatives after FIFA imposed a four-month ban on the striker.

The world governing body issued the sanction, which includes a nine-match ban on internationals, yesterday after the Uruguayan bit the shoulder of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during a 1-0 win in Natal at the World Cup.

Suarez, who is said to be in the minds of Real Madrid and Barcelona with regards to a summer swoop, has since returned to Uruguay from Brazil.

Reports emerged claiming that Liverpool officials will meet with Suarez's lawyer Alejandro Balbi and the striker's agent Pere Guardiola in Barcelona today. However, according to Sky Sports News, no such meeting will be taking place.

It has been suggested that Liverpool could be open to selling the prolific forward after he committed a third biting offence in his career.
