Mark Lawrenson: 'Liverpool are most exciting team in the country to watch'

Mark Lawrenson believes that Liverpool are the "most exciting" team to watch in the country, despite yesterday's FA Cup exit.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes that the Merseyside outfit are the best team to watch in the Premier League this season.

The Reds are fighting for Champions League qualification, but they were booted out of the FA Cup yesterday after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Despite losing at the Emirates, Lawrenson believes that Liverpool's attacking force of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling makes the Reds the "most exciting" team to watch.

"Liverpool may have lost yesterday but Arsene Wenger will know they were by far the better side," Lawrenson wrote in The Mirror. "Brendan Rodgers's men were denied a stonewall penalty by referee Howard Webb, but I don't think Brendan will lose that much sleep over it.

"He will have seen from that performance that Liverpool are the most exciting team to watch in the country right now. Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling are just sensational. They look as though they can score at any moment."

Liverpool are currently fourth in the league table.
