Adam Lallana: 'I'm ready to help lead Liverpool next season'

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana insists that he is ready to use his experience to help lead the Anfield club in the Premier League next season.

Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana has insisted that he is aware of the responsibilities that his experience brings and is ready to step up for the club next season.

The Reds will need to fill the void left by veteran skipper Steven Gerrard after his departure to the MLS, and Lallana has stated that he now feels prepared to help lead the team and prove his worth after an indifferent first season at Anfield.

"I feel settled at the club now," said Lallana, according to The Express.

"I'm not the new guy any more, I feel like one of the experienced ones, especially when you look at the players who have left. I need to be one of the experienced ones.

"I'm not young any more, I'm 27 and I feel at my peak. I can't wait to get going and show everyone what I'm capable of."

Lallana made 27 appearances for Liverpool last season, scoring five goals in the process.
