Adam Lallana: 'Exciting times for Liverpool'

Adam Lallana has claimed that there are "exciting times" ahead for Liverpool due to the new signings at the club.

The Reds have been active in the transfer window in recent weeks, bringing in seven new faces for nearly £70m.

The most recent arrival at Anfield is Christian Benteke, who joined the club from Aston Villa earlier this week for £32.5m.

Lallana believes that the Merseysiders are in for a thrilling season with their new-look squad.

"These are really exciting times," he told the club's official website. "They probably won't be up to speed yet fitness wise but they will be great additions to the squad.

"Benteke's a big presence and he's going to be a massive signing for us. He scores all kinds of goals. He can score them out of nothing and he's dangerous in the air. He's one of those players you want to have in your side."

Liverpool concluded their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East on Friday with a 1-1 draw against a Malaysia XI.
