Goalkeeper Loris Karius says that he is 'struggling to believe' how Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has revealed that he is struggling to take the positives from the club's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Merseyside giants twice led at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah giving Liverpool a 2-1 lead in the first minute of added-on time before Harry Kane netted with a last-gasp penalty.

Liverpool remain two points ahead of Spurs in the standings, but Karius has admitted that he is contemplating what might have been with Jurgen Klopp's side missing the chance to give themselves a five-point cushion in the race for a top-four spot.

The 24-year-old told the club's official website: "As a player, it's hard to believe what just happened. You score a goal so late and everyone thinks you've got it and then you have to take a point.

"If you look at it before the game, one point would have maybe been better for us than for them, but if you look at it after we lost two and they won one.

"We could have been five [points] in front so right now it's still hard to take positives out of it."

Liverpool are next in action when they face Southampton at St Mary's on Sunday.
