Liverpool defender Glen Johnson revealed his frustration at being out injured but stated that he is now ready to build up his fitness after his return against West Bromwich Albion last week.
The England right-back missed six weeks of action with a thigh injury, but made his comeback as the Reds saw off the Baggies 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.
Johnson was not included in the England squad, and will spend the international break working on his fitness at the club's Melwood training complex.
"It's been frustrating for me as no player wants to be injured," he told the Liverpool Echo. "I feel good and it's about match fitness now. The body feels good so I just need to get some training sessions and I can take it from there.
"It's been frustrating to watch because you want to be out there with the lads, and you want to be out there even more when it is not going too well.
"The most important thing for me was getting fit and hoping the lads could pull us through while I was not able to help."
Liverpool travel to Queens Park Rangers later this month.
