Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole feels that the club are moving in the right direction with new manager Brendan Rodgers.

Joe Cole has insisted that Liverpool are showing signs of progression under Brendan Rodgers.

Yesterday's 0-0 draw with Stoke City means that the Reds have collected just two points from a possible 12 in front of their own supporters at Anfield.

However, Cole, who returned from injury during the Stoke match, believes that improvements are being made by the new manager.

"During the time I was out I saw the team developing and I feel like I've seen a lot of improvement," said Cole. "Revolutions don't happen in days and weeks, and I think the fans here understand there.

"They are very educated – they know what we're trying to do and how we're trying to implement a style of play."

Liverpool are currently 14th in the Premier League table.
