Liverpool striker Danny Ings still keen to impress Jurgen Klopp despite injury

Danny Ings says that despite his season-ending injury, he can still impress new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and do his bit for the team.

Danny Ings has revealed that he will do his bit to help Liverpool in their first season under Jurgen Klopp even if it is not on the pitch.

The England striker was ruled out for the rest of the 2015-16 campaign earlier this week after suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage.

Nevertheless, the ex-Burnley man, who joined the Reds on a Bosman in the summer, says that being injured does not necessarily halt his involvement this season.

"The only way I can get in Klopp's thoughts is the way I am in the gym or by being positive around the lads," the 23-year-old, who was injured in his first training session with Klopp, told The Telegraph.

"Negativity can rub off on players. I don't want to affect their displays."

Ings was signed by Brendan Rodgers, who parted company with the Reds after the 1-1 draw with Everton before the October international break.
