Liverpool's Jordan Henderson not taking first-team role for granted

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson insists that he will continue to 'work hard' in order to keep his first-team spot.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is under no illusion that his place in the first team is secure.

The England Under-21 international has completed all four of the Reds' Premier League games this season following an inconsistent stint in the team during the 2012-13 campaign.

"It is obviously nice but I need to make sure that I'm working hard and make it hard for the manager to leave me out," Henderson told the club's official website.

"There are a lot of quality players here working hard every day in training to get a starting position. Hopefully I can keep working hard and playing football."

The Reds, who sit at the top of the league table on 10 points, take on Southampton at Anfield this Saturday.
