Steven Gerrard: "We're absolutely devastated"

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits that he and his teammates are "devastated" to lose out in the Premier League title race to Manchester City.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has admitted that he and his teammates are "absolutely devastated" to miss out on the Premier League title.

The Reds were in prime position with three weeks to go in the season, but a defeat to Chelsea and a 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace all but handed the title to Manchester City, who secured their second crown in three years.

Gerrard told Sky Sports News: "We're absolutely devastated. I'm gutted for the fans, they've been magnificent."

Liverpool beat Newcastle on the final day of the season to finish in second place in the Premier League.
