Steven Gerrard heaps praise on Jurgen Klopp

Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard hails manager Jurgen Klopp and is excited at what his first full season in charge could yield.

Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has said that it is a "very exciting time" to support the club as they prepare for their first full season under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market this summer, bringing in seven new faces as they look to improve on last season's eighth-place finish.

Gerrard is optimistic about Liverpool's chances, and talked up the effect that Klopp could have on the team.

"There's still that excitement and buzz around him. I think the manager has got that X-factor, that little bit of magic about him," he told the club's official website.

"The way he goes about things, the way he lifts people, you can see how close he is to the players and you can see he's very demanding on the training pitch as well.

"I think it's a very exciting time to be a Liverpool fan and I'm looking forward to seeing how well they do this year."

Liverpool will begin their campaign away to Arsenal on Sunday, August 14.
