Scott Dann 'privileged' to be part of Steven Gerrard's Anfield send-off

Crystal Palace defender Scott Dan admits that he feels 'privileged' to be part of Steven Gerrard's final home game for Liverpool.

Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has admitted that it will be a "privilege" to play in Steven Gerrard's final Liverpool game at Anfield.

The midfielder will bid farewell to his home fans against Palace on Saturday evening before his final ever match for the Reds away to Stoke City on May 24.

Dann, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan, has been full of praise for the former England captain, who has spent 17 years in the senior team on Merseyside.

"It will be a privilege to be on the pitch against Steven," the Daily Star quotes Dann as saying. "I didn't initially realise that his last home game was against us. It will be something to remember.

"I know what the atmosphere is going to be like and it is a great game and day to be involved in. Being a local lad I know the impact he has made and he is an inspiration to the people of Liverpool."

Gerrard will join MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy on an 18-month deal in July.
