Liverpool's Joe Allen warns against complacency

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen urges his teammates to maintain their current run of good form.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has warned his teammates against complacency in the latter stages of the Premier League title race.

The Reds narrowly defeated Sunderland 2-1 on Wednesday evening to move up to second in the table, but have crunch fixtures against fellow contenders Chelsea and Manchester City to come.

"There will be talk about those games but there are three points up for grabs in every game, and every team we play are likely to have a lot to play for," Sky Sports News quotes Allen as saying.

"We are excited to be where we are, we are working really hard and are hungry to keep this run we are on going, but we have tough games from now until the end of the season so we have to keep fighting till the end.

"Until the very end anything is possible so we have to keep our focus and keep a strong mentality. Games like the one against Sunderland make us realise we can't be complacent for a second."

Liverpool's victory over Sunderland was their seventh on the spin.
