Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker: 'I'll be ready for Premier League opener'

New Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker says that he will be ready for the club's Premier League opener with West Ham United after linking up with the first-team squad.

Summer signing Alisson Becker has predicted that it will not be difficult for him to settle into life at Liverpool.

Alisson became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world when leaving Roma for Liverpool earlier this month, but the Brazil international has only just linked up with his new teammates.

However, despite less than two weeks remaining until the start of the new Premier League campaign, Alisson says that he will ready to face West Ham United.

The 25-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "Although these two weeks don't seem like a long time, it's enough for us to be ready for our first game against West Ham.

"We'll play two friendlies before this game and I'm sure the hard work the team have put in so far is going to help me become a member of the squad as quickly as possible so that I am 100% ready for our first game to kick off the Premier League in a good way.

"My first impression tells me it won't be difficult for me here - it's a great squad formed by great players and brilliant professionals. I'm sure it's going to be a great season for us all."

Alisson could feature when Liverpool face Napoli on Saturday.
