Trent Alexander-Arnold admits that he is glad to be in the same side as Mohamed Salah rather than facing off against the Liverpool forward.

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has admitted that it is "a nightmare" coming face-to-face with Mohamed Salah during training sessions.

Salah is fast closing in on Ian Rush's record of 47 goals in a single campaign for the Reds, which is now just four out of reach with at least four more games left to play.

The Egypt international, whose 31-goal haul in the Premier League is a joint-record for the most scored in a 38-game season, arguably reserved his best performance of the campaign for Tuesday's 5-2 win over Roma.

After witnessing his teammate score two and set up two more, Alexander-Arnold told reporters: "During the week it's a nightmare because you're up against him. During the week, there's sometimes I don't really like him because he does that stuff to me.

"That's what he does day in, day out. It's just become second nature to him now and it's a credit to him. We're really happy to be playing with him rather than against him."

Salah's hot run of form has seen him strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
