Team News: Willy Caballero preferred to Joe Hart for League Cup final showdown

Willy Caballero is selected in goals for Manchester City in their only change from last time out, while Liverpool are unchanged for the League Cup final showdown.

Joe Hart has been left on the bench for Manchester City's League Cup final meeting against Liverpool, with Willy Caballero being given the nod in goal.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini has opted to keep faith in the South American stopper, who has featured in each previous round of the Citizens' run to today's Wembley showdown.

It is the only change to the side that picked up an impressive 3-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League in midweek, meaning that Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy are preferred to Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov at full-back.

Elsewhere, Wilfried Bony returns to the City bench for the first time in eight weeks, while Jesus Navas also features in the squad for the first time in a month.

Jurgen Klopp, seeking his first piece of silverware since making a switch to English football last year, has decided to keep things the same from last time out by naming an unchanged side.

That means a start for Lucas Leiva in the heart of defence following the slender 1-0 win over Augsburg in the Europa League three days ago, with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge all being declared fit to start.

Joe Allen and Adam Lallana have both overcome injury setbacks to be included on the bench, meanwhile, as Liverpool aim to lift the League Cup trophy for the ninth time in their history.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Clyne, Lucas, Sakho, Moreno; Can, Henderson, Milner; Firmino, Coutinho; Sturridge
Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Benteke, Lallana, Allen, Origi, Flanagan

Manchester City: Caballero; Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; Fernando, Fernandinho; Toure, Silva, Sterling; Aguero
Subs: Hart, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Navas, Iheanacho, Bony
