Jurgen Klopp wary of Derby County threat in EFL Cup clash

Klopp wary of Derby threat in EFL Cup clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that there is no pressure on Derby County ahead of the EFL Cup clash between the two teams.

The Rams have scored just two goals and recorded six points from their first eight Championship fixtures but rather than be under pressure when facing Klopp's in-form Reds, the German thinks that they will approach the fixture in a positive frame of mind.

The 49-year-old told reporters: "If I was the manager of Derby I'd try to use this competition for the turnaround.

"There is no pressure on them. This game is a big opportunity. We watched as many games as possible of them and they created many more chances than they actually used. They have a good quality, very experienced manager."

Klopp has suggested that he will name a strong starting lineup for the game in the East Midlands, with attacker Roberto Firmino one of several first-team players to play some part in the tie.
