Former Liverpool defender Jim Beglin has suggested that manager Brendan Rodgers is under pressure after the League Cup penalty shootout victory over Carlisle United.
The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by the League Two side at Anfield on Wednesday night, but booked their place in the fourth round by prevailing 3-2 on spot kicks.
Recent reports have suggested that the Reds are looking to bring in either Carlo Ancelotti or Jurgen Klopp to replace Rodgers, and Beglin has hinted that the Merseysiders could act soon.
"He's under intense pressure tonight," Beglin wrote on Twitter. "Understandable if the club's in touch with Ancelotti and/or Klopp."
Rodgers has come under scrutiny with his Liverpool side sitting 13th in the Premier League, having won two of their first six games.
