Sturridge hasn't trained since Newcastle game

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Daniel Sturridge has not trained with his teammates since the game against Newcastle United on December 6.

The England international, who was named on the bench for the Reds' 2-0 defeat at St James' Park, has been plagued by various injuries this season, which has restricted the striker to just five games in all competitions.

There is no set date for Sturridge's return to action, but Klopp has confirmed that he will definitely not be involved in Wednesday's FA Cup third-round replay against Exeter City at Anfield.

"No chance for Daniel," Klopp told reporters. "He has had a break in training because of some issues. He's now back training but losing time. But no team training since Newcastle. I don't know how long it is. That's not a situation we can think about him."

Sturridge is one of three strikers out injured as Divock Origi and Danny Ings remain on the treatment table.
