Half-Time Report: Goalless at Anfield between Liverpool and Wigan Athletic

Both sides enjoy some neat passing football but neither Liverpool or Wigan find the net in the opening 45 at Anfield.

Neither side has been able to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes at Anfield this afternoon.

Liverpool began in the ascendency but Wigan came into the match and almost took the lead on the quarter-hour mark when Ben Watson found himself in a pocket of space and let fly, with the returning Pepe Reina grateful to see it rise over.

Luis Suarez and Suso saw shots blocked down the other end before Ali Al-Habsi clawed Daniel Agger's header around the post.

Wigan were denying Liverpool any clear-cut opportunities but the Reds continued to sting the palms of Al-Habsi as Suso fired from long range.

Both managers were forced into early substitutions as Watson came off for David Jones and Jordan Henderson took the place of Suso.
