How Liverpool could line up against Watford

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Watford, with Roberto Firmino among their injury concerns.

Liverpool once again sit at the top of the Premier League table, but their margin for error has been whittled down in recent weeks to the point that they no longer have any.

Sunday's stalemate with Manchester United at Old Trafford was a fourth draw in the last five games across all competitions, including six dropped points in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool sit only one point above Manchester City as a result, and host an in-form Watford side on Wednesday night as they look to keep the destination of the title in their own hands.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Jurgen Klopp could line his side up for the contest.

Liverpool are expected to be without Roberto Firmino after the Brazilian was forced off in the first half of the draw with Manchester United due to an ankle injury.

The exact severity of the problem has not yet been discovered, although the likelihood of him recovering in time to play a game just three days later seems slim.

That could force Klopp into a reshuffle, with a switch back to 4-2-3-1 and recalls for Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri a possibility should the Liverpool boss decide against a straight swap for either Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return at right-back after sitting out against United having only just returned to fitness, while the game is likely to come too soon for Dejan Lovren's return.

Captain Jordan Henderson was taken off against United and may face a battle to keep his place in the starting XI should Klopp change his formation.
