Team News: Brendan Rodgers starts Fabio Borini in Europa qualifier

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has named a strong side for his first competitive match as the Reds' boss for their Europa League qualifier against FC Gomel this evening.

Jamie Carragher will lead out the Merseyside outfit with the captain's armband to commemorate his 700th appearance in a Liverpool shirt, despite regular skipper Steven Gerrard also making the starting XI.

New signing Fabio Borini will make his competitive debut for the Reds as he starts up front with Joe Cole providing support.

Meanwhile, Gomel have started Vladim Demidovich up front with Tomasz Nowak sitting in midfield.
