Europa League roundup: Holders Sevilla safely through

Two goals from midfielder Vitolo help Europa League holders champions Sevilla secure a 3-2 away win at Borussia Monchengladbach and book a place in the next round.

Ajax have breezed into the last 16 of the Europa League after dispatching Legia Warsaw 3-0 in this evening's second-leg clash at the Polish Army Stadium.

Arkadiusz Milik and Nick Viergever scored a goal each within the first 15 minutes of the game, before the Polish 20-year-old struck again just before the break to give his side an unassailable 4-0 lead on aggregate.

Another side to stroll into the next round is Villarreal, who saw off Red Bull Salzburg by a score of 3-1 to confirm a 5-2 win on aggregate.

Marco Djuricin gave the Austrians fighting hope with a goal in the 18th minute, but a Luciano Vietto brace and a late Giovani dos Santos strike were enough to see the La Liga side through.

Martin Stranzl opened the scoring with an own goal, but Granit Xhaka - who was later sent off for a second yellow - and Thorgan Hazard helped put the Germans in the lead. However, the 25-year-old's brace helped the visitors through to the next round.

Dynamo Moscow came back from behind to secure a 3-1 win against Anderlecht, which saw the Russians through as the first leg ended goalless.

Compatriots Zenit St Petersburg also advanced courtesy of a comprehensive 3-0 victory against PSV Eindhoven, who suffered a 4-0 aggregate defeat.

Dynamo Kiev recorded an impressive 3-1 win against Guingamp to reach the last 16, a narrow 4-3 aggregate win doing the job for the Ukrainians.
