Top 10 Liverpool strikers of the Premier League era - #9

Sports Mole's countdown of the top 10 greatest Liverpool strikers from the Premier League era continues with number nine - Sadio Mane.

A player who could very well climb significantly up this list before he calls time on his Liverpool career, Sadio Mane has established himself as arguably Liverpool's most important attacker during their 2018-19 title challenge.

At the time of writing, the Senegal international has 17 Premier League goals this season, leaving him just one behind top-scorer Sergio Aguero - a tally made all the more impressive considering that he is the only one of the Golden Boot frontrunners not to have been on penalty duties.

It is already Mane's best league scoring season and takes his tally for Liverpool up to an impressive 40 goals in 85 league appearances - not to mention 13 goals in 21 Champions League outings.

Mane has often been overshadowed by the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino alongside him in the front three, but he has consistently improved since his 2016 switch from Southampton and is now one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp's team sheet.
