Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale out of Real Madrid squad for Liverpool match

Real Madrid name their squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Liverpool, and neither Gareth Bale nor Sergio Ramos have made it.

Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale have both been left out of Real Madrid's squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Liverpool.

Bale has been ruled out with a hip problem, which was confirmed by the Spanish club yesterday afternoon.

Ramos had been expected to return from the muscular injury which kept him out of Spain's recent Euro 2016 qualifiers, but has not recovered in time to travel to Anfield.

Raphael Varane and Isco are said to be the favourites to replace Bale and Ramos in Carlo Ancelotti's XI.

Full squad

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Navas, Pacheco

Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Nacho

Midfielders: Khedira, Kroos, James, Modric, Isco, Illarra, Medran, Llorente

Strikers: Ronaldo, Benzema, Hernandez
